'Tim is an amazing guy. He knows Nepal like no one else I can imagine. I've been a hiker and a climber and a mountaineer for my whole life but I've never really been in the mountains with somebody quite like Tim, ' Jim, trekker on the Gorakh Himal Exploratory trek with Tim Macartney-Snape. An exploratory trek with Tim is like no other trekking experience in Nepal. Heading to remote, unexplored places that seem like 'blanks on the map, where it's possible that no western trekker has ever been before, is what Tim - and those who keep returning to join him - revels in. If this sounds like your type of adventure then head to our website to discover where Tim is planning to explore next. https://worldexpeditions.com/Trekking-Exploratory

Delivering quality since 1975...

BIG Adventures with a small footprint

We visit remote communities and venture in pristine – and often untouched – natural environments. Preserving and sustaining them for future generations is not just important, but essential. Read our Thoughtful Travel charter on ways we are leading responsible travel practices in the places we explore.

World firsts

We proudly pioneered trails in Nepal and the Indian Himalaya that had never before been used commercially, including the Api Himal and a traverse from Kashmir to Ladakh through Zanskar (1983). We offered the first ever trekking trip to Tibet (1991) as well as piloted the first commercial opportunity to walk the Great Himalaya Trail (2010) linking the high passes from Nepal’s most eastern to western borders. We’re always looking to provide new and unique experiences to get you off the well-trodden trails.

Unique and off-the-map expeditions

We continue to push the envelope each year by innovating new programs while also finessing our classics, so that even the most experienced climber will find inspiration within our range. Enhancing your journey with authentic experiences, genuine cultural exchange and real exploration are the focal points on all of our expeditions.
