From your hotel in Cusco, we collect you for the transfer to the bus station. We depart early in the morning for the 8 to 10 hour bus journey to Puno set on the shores of Lake Titicaca at 12,530' (3,820m). The journey by first class tourist bus crosses the dramatic Altiplano via altitudes of up to 4300m. During your trip, you will experience quintessential Andean landscapes and breathtaking vistas. The road takes us through the wonderful Andes scenery. First, we stop in Andahuaylillas, a town located 40 kilometres from Cusco with the Church of Andahuaylillas as the main attraction. The church is nicknamed the ‘Sistine Chapel of America’, due to its impressive art inside. After this, we stop in Checacupe, a beautiful town known for its hanging bridges and rock bridges. We continue the route to Racchi, where the Wiracocha Temple is located, a surprising 30-meters wide by 20-meters high construction of rectangular shape. Enjoy a tasty box lunch in Sicuani, followed by a brief stop in La Raya, the highest point between Puno and Cusco, over 4,313 metres above sea level. In the afternoon we arrive at the town of Pucara, where the Pucara Lithic Museum is located. Developed between the years 100 and 300 AC, this town was the first proper urban settlement of the lacustrine highlands. Finally, arrive in the city of Puno. Our first glimpses of lake Titicaca reminds us that this is hardly a lake - its more like a vast inland sea that also happens to be the highest navigable lake in the world! We spend our night at our hotel in Puno. If you choose to travel by train from Cusco to Puno, an upgrade option is available upon request at an additional cost. We will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning and transfer you to the train station. Please note that the Titicaca Train operates only on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The once-in-a-lifetime adventure takes approximately 10 hours 30 minutes. The route is considered by many travel magazines to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Overnight: Hotel in Puno.

Meals: L

Puno is a typical high Andean town, set on the shores of the lake and located on the great altiplano that stretches all the way to La Paz. There will be an opportunity to cruise Lake Titicaca – the highest navigable lake in the world – and visit some of the unique floating ‘tortora’ reed islands of the Uros Indians. The afternoon is free to relax in Puno and explore its streets and markets.

Meals: B

We journey by public bus around the lake and across the border into Bolivia to the town of Copacabana - beautifully situated on the shores of the lake. We continue via the straits of Tiquina - the narrowest and also by coincidence the deepest part of Lake Titicaca - and on across the immense Bolivian altiplano to its biggest city, La Paz - at 3,700m the highest 'capital' city in the world. On arrival in La Paz transfer to your hotel. Overnight: Hotel Rosario or similar

Meals: B

A 4 hours city tour through La Paz, elected as one of the 7 wonder cities in the world. It is located in a valley at the foothills of the Andes Range, situated at 3,632m / 11942 ft. above sea level. The tour goes through the street markets rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft items, followed by a visit to the colonial section of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square. Then descending to the more modern, southern part of La Paz to reach and visit the Valley of the Moon, where a clay mountain has been impressively shaped by erosion. Ride by cable car “Teleférico”, it’s a good choice to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz. This is a must for every one! Overnight: Hotel Rosario or similar NB: Museums in La Paz, close on holidays, Saturday and Sunday afternoon and all day Monday.

Meals: B

After breakfast we offer a transfer to the airport in La Paz where our trip concludes.
