Greenland Hikes & Cruises

From fjord cruises to Arctic hikes and even kayaking, discover Greenland's remote beauty the way you want.

Greenland is the world’s largest island, a vast Arctic wilderness covering over 2.2 million square kilometres - that’s four times the size of France or five times California. Over 80% of its surface is blanketed by the planet’s second-largest icecap, creating an awe-inspiring landscape shaped by ancient glaciers, deep fjords, and sharp mountain ridges.

Whether you're navigating iceberg-strewn waters on a small ship cruise or trekking rugged valleys carved by ice, our Greenland adventures offer unique access to every corner of this remarkable land. Our range spans the entire island – from West to East – with experiences suited for both walkers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Home to Inuit communities and a strong hunting tradition, especially in the remote east, Greenland offers a rare window into Arctic life that has endured for centuries. In settlements like Kulusuk, Tiniteqilaaq and Tasilaq, you’ll encounter a deep connection to the land, where ancient languages are still spoken and traditional skills are part of daily survival. Wildlife here is equally extraordinary – from the haunting calls of narwhals offshore to sightings of polar bears, walrus and musk ox across the tundra. Our adventures are designed to bring you closer to both the culture and the creatures that define this spectacular polar frontie

We offer one of the most diverse portfolios of Greenland adventures available - from ship-based voyages and cultural encounters to remote Arctic hikes led by expert local guides.

Useful Greenland Info

Greenland offers immense glaciers, dramatic Arctic fjords and remote polar wilderness, with the best regions to explore including East Greenland, Scoresby Sund, the Greenland Ice Sheet, Ilulissat Icefjord and Arctic coastal settlements.

East Greenland & Tasiilaq Fjords: East Greenland’s remote fjord systems offer spectacular trekking where routes such as the Karale to Tasiilaq Fjord trek cross glaciers and alpine terrain while camping deep in one of the Arctic’s most untouched landscapes.

Scoresby Sund: The immense fjord system of Scoresby Sund features towering mountains and giant drifting icebergs explored by expedition ship and small boat landings.

Greenland Ice Sheet: The vast Greenland Ice Sheet dominates the island’s interior where travellers experience one of the largest ice landscapes on Earth.

Ilulissat Icefjord: Ilulissat’s UNESCO-listed Icefjord reveals enormous glaciers calving icebergs into Disko Bay in one of Greenland’s most dramatic natural spectacles.

Arctic Coastal Settlements: Greenland’s small coastal communities reveal traditional Inuit culture shaped by life in the Arctic wilderness.

The best time to travel to Greenland for expedition travel, wildlife viewing and kayaking is during the short summer season, Jun–Aug, when sea ice retreats and access improves.

Greenland has a polar climate with long cold winters and short cool summers. Temperatures typically range between -30°C and 5°C (-22°F–41°F) depending on the season.

Outside the summer season the region becomes colder and more remote, yet the scenery is striking with glaciers, sea ice and vast polar landscapes.
