Begin in one of the biggest cities in the world, Mexico City, with its vast ceremonial squares and the towering pyramids at Teotihuacan, then travel south to the cool highlands of San Cristobal de las Casas where Indigenous communities maintain living Maya traditions. Cruise beneath the vertical cliffs of Sumidero Canyon, witness the jungle come to life with howler monkeys and rare birdlife around the temples of Palenque, and learn from local guides who bring each region to life through its stories and archaeology. Continue across the Yucatan Peninsula where freshwater cenotes offer a refreshing swim and the Caribbean coast provides time to unwind beside turquoise waters of the Riviera Maya. On arrival at Mexico City International Airport, a friendly, bilingual host will be there to greet you, holding a sign with your name and offering a warm welcome to one of the world’s most vibrant cities. You’ll be transferred comfortably to your hotel in Mexico City, The rest of the day is yours. This vibrant capital is home to more than 22 million people and blends Aztec roots, colonial landmarks and modern energy. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to stretch your legs with a stroll to the nearby Zócalo, the city’s main square and a gathering place for thousands of years. This morning you step into the historic heart of Mexico City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site layered with Aztec, colonial and contemporary stories. Walk through the Zocalo, framed by the Metropolitan Cathedral and the remains of Templo Mayor, once the ceremonial centre of ancient Tenochtitlan. Trace the citys evolution as you pass the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the tree lined Alameda Central. In the afternoon visit the National Museum of Anthropology, one of the most important museums in the Americas. Its collection reveals the depth of Mexicos pre Hispanic cultures, with highlights such as the Aztec Sun Stone and the monumental Olmec heads. This day is all about contrasts and colors, where contemporary creativity meets timeless tradition. Begin with a panoramic drive through two of Mexico City’s trendiest districts: La Roma and La Condesa, known for their art deco facades, lush parks, and café culture. These neighborhoods refl ect the city’s cosmopolitan side and are hubs for artists, designers, and locals who love good food and great design. As we head south, we pass by the Polyforum Cultural Siqueiros, a striking cultural venue wrapped in one of the largest murals in the world. Then, we make a quick stop outside the Ciudad Universitaria, the main campus of UNAM—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—where we admire the Olympic Stadium and the iconic Central Library covered in a dramatic mosaic mural by Juan O’Gorman. The journey continues to Xochimilco, one of the most beloved and unique spots in Mexico City. Known as the “Venice of the Americas,” this ancient network of canals dates back to Aztec times. After a smooth private transfer to the airport, you’ll board a domestic flight to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of Chiapas and your gateway to nature’s grandeur. Upon arrival, our team will be waiting to welcome you and take you straight to Sumidero Canyon, one of Mexico’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Cruise along the Grijalva River beneath towering canyon walls, keeping an eye out for crocodiles, monkeys, and colorful tropical birds. After the boat ride, the journey continues into the cool highlands to San Cristóbal de las Casas, a magical town of cobblestone streets and colonial charm. Begin in San Juan Chamula, a place where ancient Mayan rituals blend seamlessly with Catholic practices in a way that feels both mysterious and sacred. Inside the community’s iconic church, you'll witness a living tradition unlike any other, families lighting candles, whispering prayers in Tzotzil, and performing healing ceremonies that have been passed down through generations. If you wish, try a sip of Posh, the traditional sugarcane spirit used in many local rituals. Next, continue to Zinacantán, a village known for its vibrant textiles and strong sense of community. You’ll visit a family-run weaving cooperative where local women will demonstrate how they create their intricate garments using waist looms—a technique that has remained unchanged for centuries. Return to San Cristóbal de las Casas in the early afternoon. Today starts very early (4am) but it’s a day you’ll remember forever. You’ll leave San Cristóbal de las Casas at dawn and journey deep into Chiapas’s tropical landscapes for a day filled with waterfalls, wilderness, and ancient wonder. First stop: the breathtaking Agua Azul, a series of cascading turquoise waterfalls nestled in the jungle. Enjoy time to walk the trails, take incredible photos, or even go for a refreshing swim in the natural pools (if conditions allow). Next, visit Misol-Ha, a dramatic single-drop waterfall plunging into a jungle basin. It’s a place of cinematic beauty and peaceful energy; perfect for a quick pause and a few stunning snapshots. Then, it’s on to Palenque, one of the most mysterious and magnificent cities of the ancient Maya. Hidden in dense rainforest, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to temples, palaces, and pyramids that once mapped the stars and honored powerful rulers. Here stands Nohoch Mul, the tallest pyramid in the Yucatán Peninsula; an awe-inspiring reminder of the grandeur of the ancient Maya.
