Seen in Wanderlust: Costa Rica Traverse

On the Costa Rica Traverse our travellers walk, cycle and raft their way across the country. It's a 237km traverse and is high on this list of many active adventurers. Joining our trip to write a story in Wanderlust magazine, Mark Stratton initially was a little concerned about his level of fitness compared to that of his travel companions. If you're interested in a first-hand account of his trip, this is arguably the most insightful Costa Rica holiday review one can get!

Perhaps my greatest concern, assembling in the capital San José to meet my fellow adventurers, was that I would languish behind a group of ultra-fit athletes.

To give you a bit of an idea of what comments to expect, Mark describes he learned a lot about mountain biking - including innovative ways to fall, how he came across a volcano which status had been upgraded to 'yellow alert', and he vividly explains the difference between grade II and IV river rafting.
