Project Summary: Nepal, Takshindu Monastery Waste Management Project

Year: 2011

Achievements: The construction of 1 waste incinerator.

Impact: Alleviates the dumping of non-disposable waste (clothing, plastic etc) in the rivers and over mountainsides. There is no council pick up truck in these remote regions of Nepal, in fact, there are no roads - just walking tracks.

It also educates the community about the fragility of their natural environment and how proper waste disposal can conserve the environment.
